Introduce us to your family!

I have been married to my husband Brent for almost 5 years. Together we have two boys, Nathan who is three and Michael who is one. I met Brent at ASU during an outdoors adventure club meeting. I went on a canyoneering trip with him and after that we couldn’t stop talking. As a family we enjoy outdoors activities and spending time with close friends and family.

How did your FIt4Mom journey begin?

My father-in-law saw an ad to a Fit4Mom anniversary class in Scottsdale and my husband convinced me to try it out. I liked that the moms worked out with their kiddos so I decided to sign up. Later I found out that they had a franchise closer to me. I came to a class at Tempe Marketplace and fell in love with the Fit4Mom village! The moms were so welcoming and all the instructors came up to say hello and meet Nathan. The more classes I attended the more moms I was privileged to meet. Little did I know back then just how much they would became such a big part of my life.

Favorite and least favorite exercises?

My least favorite exercise is Burpees. I love squats, lunges and curtsy lunges with mini bands!

What's your favorite part of teaching classes?

I love seeing moms push themselves beyond what they think they can and talk about how sore they will be the next day. It fills my cup when moms tell me that they can now do a perfect push-up or that they are losing weight. Their glow inspires me to keep teaching, and I also get to hold babies!

What has been the most valuable part of being in the Fit4Mom village?

The best part of Fit4mom is the love my kids and I get from all the moms, they really feel like family. Many moms have taught me it is okay if I am not perfect. There is no book that tells anyone what a perfect mom is. We are all trying really hard to be the best that we can be. Each and every day I’ve noticed I am becoming healthier and turning into a good role model for my boys. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without this village!

What is your #1 piece of advice for someone considering coming to Fit4Mom for their first class?

I’ve noticed that a lot of new moms feel stressed if their kids cry while in the stroller during class and I just want to let them know that it’s okay if your kiddo cries! We have all been there, just enjoy the mommy time.
